Charming sewing basket / stool with woven body and dansette legs. The wooden structure is crisply decorated in black and white plastic weave. The padded top is upholstered in red moquette and hinges open to reveal the interior lined in scarlet silk with a padded pin cushion lid. The lid has a black and white tassle to match the plastic weave and a pair of little chains to stop it swinging open too much. The Dansette style legs have painted gilded feet, pretending to be brass.
A sturdy piece which could sit a small person.
In overall good condition comensurate with age. Some discolouration to the white plastic and an ink(?) stain to the lining.
