Caithness Glass Scaraben decanter

Extremely rare 'Scaraben' decanter in clear colourless glass with a dark grey / olive green stopper. Designed by Domhnall O'Broin for Caithness Glass Ltd c1962. Excellent condition.

"This decanter and its matching glasses are extremely rare and required skill to make.  Not popular at the time, this Art Deco style design cost £2 2s in 1963 and was discontinued in the mid-1960s. When launched, examples with commerative engravings were given to Berman Chancellor Ludwig Erhard and the Duke of Edinburgh." Mark Hill
